Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) by 11 runs in the 39th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2018 at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad on Monday.
After being put into bat first, SRH posted a total of 179 runs for the loss of four wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Captain Kane Williamson led the way with an unbeaten 81 off 51 balls, while Shikhar Dhawan and Yusuf Pathan contributed 38 and 29 runs respectively.
In reply, RCB could only manage to score 168 runs for the loss of eight wickets in their 20 overs. AB de Villiers top-scored for RCB with 69 off 39 balls, while Mandeep Singh and Brendon McCullum chipped in with 32 and 25 runs respectively.
For SRH, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Sandeep Sharma, and Shakib Al Hasan picked up two wickets each, while Rashid Khan and Basil Thampi took one wicket each.
With this win, SRH moved up to fifth place in the IPL 2018 points table with 10 points from 10 matches, while RCB remained in eighth place with six points from 10 matches.
